Blood on my handsmore

i spilled a little communion on my finger. Being a in a chatty mood a said to God: “Oh dear, now i have your blood on my hands.”

He stopped me dead and said: “Yes, you do. That is why I use you”

If He died because of what i did then i am responsible for His death. My hands are stained with His blood.

The wonder is that it is exactly that… the stains from His blood that make it possible to pray for healing, freedom or protection.

I love it… my God is sharp and witty.

If you have a heart, if you care-then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead - Philippians 2 - image credit

Look into the mouth of a person and you’ll find lies, wriggling there like maggots, waiting to grow wings.more

I was watching CSI Season 7 the other night and in the episode, loco motives, a guy called Ernie Dell says: “Look into the mouth of a person and you’ll find lies, wriggling there like maggots, waiting to grow wings.”

I love the image… imagine how gross it must be to look deep inside someone and see putrid maggots squirming in there.

I wish someone would make a video about it. Beautiful hearts springing butterflies from the mouth and fetid hearts spewing forth flies- all beautiful people so that you can’t tell the difference until they open their lips.

It made me think of when Jesus said to the Pharisees “The mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” (Matthew 12:34 - New Life Version)

We fill our minds all day with negative things and then we’re surprised when we open our mouths and flies come out. I want to write about this – this ability we have to hide what our hearts hold so well that we can’t even see it ourselves. Another time.

Want to look beautiful when you speak?

God says about His love: “Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride” (Song of Solomon 4:11). If that is what He chooses for His bride then that is what I want to have. I want my heart to be a honeycomb from which honey drips.

So you need to fill your heart with beauty:

“I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.” (Philippians 4:8)

Seek these things. Find them and fill up on them.
